Two days. One harbourside. One brilliant community team.
Whitehaven Weekender is bringing live performance, music, street theatre, Pride celebrations, family activities, food, creativity and community to Whitehaven Harbourside on Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 August 2026. The weekend is delivered through a partnership between Rosehill, NEAD and Whitehaven Harbour Commissioners, with Saturday focused on outdoor arts, family-friendly activities, walkabout acts and live entertainment, and Sunday centred on the Pride By The Harbourside line-up of music performances.
Now we’re looking for friendly, reliable volunteers to help make the weekend feel welcoming, joyful and well organised for everyone who comes along.
Ready to join us?
If you’re up for being part of the team behind Whitehaven Weekender, we’d love to hear from you.

Because festivals don’t happen without people. Volunteers are the extra smiles, the helpful directions, the calm hands and the community spirit that turn a busy harbourside into a brilliant, shared experience.
Whether you can give a few hours or a full day, you’ll be part of something bold, creative and proudly Cumbrian.
Volunteer roles may include:
Welcoming visitors and helping people find their way around the harbourside
Supporting audiences at performances, activities and gathering points
Helping with family-friendly creative activities
Supporting community stalls, information points or queues
Being a friendly presence across the site
Helping the team keep the weekend running smoothly
You don’t need festival experience - just enthusiasm, a positive attitude and a willingness to get stuck in.
We’d love to hear from people who are:
Friendly, approachable and happy to help
Proud of Whitehaven and excited to welcome visitors
Interested in arts, music, Pride, community events and family activities
Confident speaking to the public (or happy to pitch in with jobs behind the scenes if you’re more of an introvert)
Able to stay calm and practical in a busy outdoor event setting
There may be a mix of roles to suit different people, skills and availability. Volunteers must be 16 years old or over to apply. Under 16’s may be permitted if volunteering with a parent or guardian.
As a Whitehaven Weekender volunteer, you’ll get:
Training before the event

The opportunity to meet new people and build confidence
Food and drink provided in our green rooms
A role in creating a welcoming, inclusive weekend for locals and visitors
The feel-good factor of helping make something special happen in Whitehaven
