Film:

This film is a really great example of British filmmaking at its
finest – a good script and fine talent. Is Anybody There?

and poignant story of an odd couple, Edward a young boy and Clarence
a retired magician. Clarence is the latest recruit to the retirement
home that Edwards’s parents own and where he lives. Edward
leads a lonely existence and is increasingly obsessed with ghosts
and the afterlife, until he meets Clarence. The pair begin to face
life together with Edward learning to live in the moment and Clarence
coming to terms with the past. Starring Michael Caine. Running time:

in
this skewed tribute to the tales of our childhood. Join Sammy, a

Heath McIvor as they take you on a magical journey through the Forest

Pasadena Roof Orchestra
Happy Birthday! The Pasadena Roof Orchestra celebrates its 40th
Anniversary Year in 2009! Right from the start in 1969, it has delighted
audiences with its mix of swing and hot dance music. Its reputation
is as legendary in its own right, as the bands from the 1920s and
1930s that inspired it. The Pasandena Roof Orchestra has remained
faithful to its roots of swing which have taken it several times
around the world. Swing is much more than a musical genre; it personifies
a lust for life, with its infectious beat. Its roots lie in the
pre-war dance bands, and the roaring twenties which inspired the
later big swing bands. In contrast to many other musical genres
swing has never really gone out of fashion over the decades, particularly
in recent years. The Pasadena Roof Orchestra has played an important
role in this resurgence of popularity. There is hardly a great hall
or great theatre in the world that hasn’t been put into good
spirits by
some toe tapping tunes from the Pasadena Roof Orchestra being peppered
with the right dose of British wit and humour. See for yourself
and join the party. This is absolutely an unmissable evening!

Whitehaven Theatre Group
Out Of Order
Richard Willey, a junior minister in the government, is looking
forward to a night of passion with Jane Worthington, the secretary
of the Leader of the Opposition, instead of attending an all-night
debate. But the discovery of a body in their hotel room at the Westminster
Hotel leads to a hectic night of confusion that provides a night
of laughter for the audience. This fast-moving farce was the winner
of the Olivier Award for Comedy in 1991, and with the same team
from Whitehaven Theatre Group that provided last year’s successful
thriller, Murdered to Death. An evening of excellent entertainment

a failed relationship and his dysfunctional family life. Eric drives
around a round-about the wrong way in an attempt to end his misery;
this prompts his friends to rally around, suggesting self help techniques
and suggests he adopts a mentor. Eric adopts his main influence
– the legendary Eric Cantona who appears to only him as an
apparition. The story goes through a rollercoaster of sadness and

Ola Onabule
After an outstanding reception in 2007 soul singer Ola Onabule returns
to Rosehill. Ola Onabule is amongst the finest singer/songwriters
of his generation. His voice is beautifully clear and appealingly
textured, almost classical sounding. Ola has spent much of his career
concentrating on lyrics with songs that are layered with metaphor
and allegory. He seemlessly documents the issues of the day with
the universal subjects of love and loss. Having guested with some
of America’s finest soul and jazz artists including Diane
Reeves, Gladys Knight, Al Jarreau, Patti Labelle, Roberta Flack,
Joe Zawinul, Natalie Cole, and Roy Hargrove. This performance is
a must see for any soul, jazz or funk fan.
