Theatre:Messel Make and Do
Following some great workshops held during February half term, we are arranging more this half term for children aged 7-11 with an accompanying adult. Come and learn about Oliver Messel (the world famous designer of Rosehill’s interior and a Suite at the Dorchester Hotel in London!) and some of the creative techniques he used in his career as a film and theatre designer.

Rosehill Players, the well established community theatre group based at Rosehill, are preparing to produce a Shakespeare play in 2011 running a series of workshops in advance.

Richard Rodney Bennett is one of the UK’s most renowned musical figures, in the rare position of having achieved phenomenal international success across a wide range of music; as a composer, singer and pianist. It is a great privilege to have the opportunity to present this multi Ivor Novello Award winner at Rosehill together with his distinguished and highly acclaimed cabaret and jazz singing partner, Claire Martin.

Starring Mo’nique, Mariah Carey and Gabourey Sidibe in the title role, Precious is set in 1987 in Harlem. It is the powerful story of an obese black teenager who suffers horrific abuse at home and finally gets a chance to develop her writing talent when she is sent to an alternative school.

David Pyatt and Leon McCawley have performed together many times, notably at the Edinburgh Festival in 2007 at a concert to commemorate the legendary horn player, Dennis Brain.
